Ray of Sunshine House is situated on a smallholding in Dassenberg, where children in need live and play to their heart's delight in a safe and loving environment. Ray of Sunshine House is a project of MEC Community Services, a registered NPO and PBO.
We currently have the following children in our care: Joe (9), Tommy (8), Natasha (7), Abby (5), Michael (4), Maggie (4) Jessica (3), Lucky (4), Martin (3), Sipho (3), Aimee-Lee (20m) and Petros (16m). Noah (5) Sarah (8) & Thandi (11) our adopted children, Chloe (17) & Joshua (15) our biological children.
These children are taken in and integrated into our family so that they can feel part of a real family, not just outsiders living on the charity of others. This is very important to us. We treat them as our own, the same rules apply to them as our own. Infact for the period that they are with us, we do not see or think of them as anyone else but our own. We want them to excel and be all that God made them to be.
Even though we cannot adopt them all, we are blessed, honoured and fortunate to be able to make a difference in this world, by changing and enriching these children's lives.
In addition to our large family we also are home to RAY OF SUNSHINE HORSE HAVEN, where we offer a loving home to retired/unwanted horses. These horses are "connected" to the children and the healing process that takes place is heart warming.
Just Charity supports Ray of Sunshine with food and clothing whenever possible.
